Grist To The Mill Productions theatre company launched in April 2012, producing new writing and forgotten classics for a new generation. Writer Ross Ericson, one of the company's founders, who has recently turned his hand to writing has had noted success. His critically acclaimed adaptation of Henry Fielding's Tom Jones has been licensed by California based LA Theatre Works, to be produced as a radio play, and his play Casualties, directed by Harry Burton, was chosen for the opening season of the new Park Theatre at Finsbury Park in 2013. The production was nominated for Best New Play and Best Sound Design at the Offwestend Awards.
Ross Ericson's moving WWI piece The Unknown Soldier premiered at Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2015, garnering great reviews and interest and in 2016 SOLD OUT its Edinburgh Fringe full month run as part of Assembly Festival's programme. By popular demand, the play has been touring the UK till present. This is followed by the thought-provoking Gratiano, a political retelling of Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice, which has garnered a multitude of 5-star reviews. Ross Ericson's playtexts are published by Bloomsbury Methuen Drama.
Grist to the Mill has also worked extensively with sister company, British East-Asian theatre, Red Dragonfly Productions. Their collaborations has seen various touring productions of Chinese-classics and new-writing by emerging BEA artists.
We are also the proud producer of the pop-up venue The Rotunda Theatre, bringing an exciting line-up of performances and film screening to provincial places and festivals around the UK.
We are also looking to expand operation and services, such as costumes, props and set hire. Please get in touch for more information.
